The Florida Department of Health regulates high-power laser devices, which can start fires or cause
severe burns and blindness if misused.

The department currently has registered more than 3,000 lasers at over 800 facilities, including hospitals, universities, industrial plants, doctors' offices, and laboratories.

The Department also answers inquiries about other nonionizing radiation sources such as ultraviolet lamps, microwave ovens, TV and radio antennas, cellular antennas, and electromagnetic fields.
