PACE EH Project Summary
PACE-EH funds along with funds for Step Up, Florida
and Closing the Gap were used to make improvements in Jonesville
Park, increasing the recreational activities for the residents of
Sanderson. Total cost of improvements was $9,150.00 (PACE-EH spent
$5450, Gap an additional $1875 and Step Up, Florida the remaining
$1825). Improvements to the park include:
Upgrade and installation of basketball goals with
break away rims and attachable youth goals.
Installation of portable bleachers with a lock system.
Installation of 4 swings on the swing set and 4 replacement seats
for them.
Movement of the traffic studs and reinstallation at the end of the
basketball court, with additional traffic studs being added to block
vehicular traffic from park.
Removal of designated piece of playground equipment and replace
with an 8 foot merry go round.
Repair dugouts for baseball field and installation of benches in
each one.
Since PACE-EH was implemented, sidewalks and some
lighting have been added. Also, more health education classes are being
offered by the health department in the Sanderson community.
