BAKER COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT
PACE EH Project Summary

PACE-EH funds along with funds for Step Up, Florida and Closing the Gap were used to make improvements in Jonesville Park, increasing the recreational activities for the residents of Sanderson. Total cost of improvements was $9,150.00 (PACE-EH spent $5450, Gap an additional $1875 and Step Up, Florida the remaining $1825). Improvements to the park include:

• Upgrade and installation of basketball goals with break away rims and attachable youth goals.
• Installation of portable bleachers with a lock system.
• Installation of 4 swings on the swing set and 4 replacement seats for them.
• Movement of the traffic studs and reinstallation at the end of the basketball court, with additional traffic studs being added to block vehicular traffic from park.
• Removal of designated piece of playground equipment and replace with an 8 foot merry go round.
• Repair dugouts for baseball field and installation of benches in each one.

Since PACE-EH was implemented, sidewalks and some lighting have been added. Also, more health education classes are being offered by the health department in the Sanderson community.
