Subject: West Perrine Environmental Health Community Project
Progress Report
July October 2004
The West Perrine Environmental Health Community Project has yet to
progress beyond task four of the PACE methodology. We have been
unsuccessful in establishing a committed community involvement and
participation, but we are still striving to do so. We are planning
to seek additional assistance from Gloria Graham, as we continue to
move forward in this project.
Implementing a community-based project in West Perrine has been very
challenging for both the community and our division. From the start
of the project, there has been a negative perception of both the
health department and government agencies. Different approaches have
been used, but it has still been difficult to build a comfort level
of trust.
