Advisory council and workgroups

 

Advisory Council Members

The Environmental Public Health Tracking Advisory Council is a team of health and environmental experts who:

  • Facilitate the evaluation and implementation of the CDC 5-year program

  • Develop a comprehensive plan for an EPHT Network that is compatible with CDC/national standards

  • Evaluate the findings of the Coordinating Committee (see below) and make recommendations

  • Utilize these findings and recommend priorities and strategies to CDC

  • Produce and submit reports to CDC

Coordination Committee Members

The Environmental Public Health Tracking Coordination Committee is comprised of technical experts in data management, GIS and statistics. The Coordination Committee represents the technical ?"arm' of EPHT. It utilizes expert abilities on data linkages and consolidates and reviews recommendations made from the Advisory Council.

Committee Workgroups

The Coordination Committee is divided into the following workgroups:

  • Asthma
  • Birth Defects
  • Cancer
  • Developmental Disabilities
  • Env/Data/GIS
  • Lead

The workgroups allow the appropriate members of the Coordination Committee to focus on the specific details of particular health outcome data sets and environmental data sets. In addition, the smaller size of the Workgroups allows for easier decision-making on the specifics of the GIS analysis.
