Education Evaluation
Here are the academic disciplines and corresponding majors that are used to determine what courses will count, toward certification, in the areas of Physical Sciences and Biological Sciences as per 64E-18.003(3)(a). The following class DO Count toward certification:

Biochemistry
Biology, general
Biometrics and biostatistics
Biophysics
Botany, general
Cell biology (cytology, cell physiology)
Cytology
Ecology
Embryology
Entomology
Environmental science, environmental management, environmental studies, etc. (These are considered biological sciences in many schools; however, because there is so much variation in the environmental areas, it is best to verify the course content on a case-by-case basis. The school that awards the major would be used when coursework comes from two or more departments. See the policy on interdisciplinary programs in this manual since that is the usual organization of environmental programs of study.)

This document will help the applicant determine if he or she meets the educational requirements for certification under Chapter 381.0101, Florida Statutes, and Chapter 64E-18, Florida Administrative Code.
