Storage Guidelines

white pills
  1. If you can, do not store medicine in a bathroom cabinet. Moisture and heat will help it to break down.
  2. Store them in a cool, dry place. These can include: a kitchen cabinet away from the stove or sink or a bedroom drawer or cabinet.
  3. Remove the cotton plug to keep it from attracting moisture.
  4. Avoid storage in the refrigerator unless the label calls for it.
  5. To protect children, keep medicines and vitamins out of reach, or better yet, in a locked cabinet.

For Travelers

  1. If driving, don't keep your medicine in the glove compartment for a long period of time. Damage can occur from heat, cold, or rain.
  2. If flying, keep your medicine in your carry-on in the container it came in. Remember: airlines do not keep cargo areas at the proper temperature for medicine to stay safe.
