Storage Guidelines
- If you can, do not store medicine in a bathroom cabinet. Moisture and heat will help it to break down.
- Store them in a cool, dry place. These can include: a kitchen cabinet away from the stove or sink or a bedroom drawer or cabinet.
- Remove the cotton plug to keep it from attracting moisture.
- Avoid storage in the refrigerator unless the label calls for it.
- To protect children, keep medicines and vitamins out of reach, or better yet, in a locked cabinet.
For Travelers
- If driving, don't keep your medicine in the glove compartment for a long period of time. Damage can occur from heat, cold, or rain.
- If flying, keep your medicine in your carry-on in the container it came in. Remember: airlines do not keep cargo areas at the proper temperature for medicine to stay safe.
